We make one song for one person. You tell us who they are and what the occasion is, and a finished song comes back with their name sung in it, in the language they actually think in.
Aamras is a Hindi word for mango pulp, the thing that turns up in Indian homes when something is worth celebrating. That is roughly the job: be the part of the occasion people remember afterwards.
Most people have something they want to say to somebody and no way to say it that feels big enough. A message is too small. A gift gets put in a cupboard. A song gets played twice and then forwarded to the family group.
The hard part was never making music. It was getting a name pronounced the way a family pronounces it, and writing a verse specific enough that only one person could be the subject. That is where most of our work goes: you type the name in its own script, and the singer follows that spelling rather than flattening it into English.
So the songs that come out of here are not really about occasions. They are about a retirement after thirty five years in one department, a sister who moved to another country, a mother who prays in Tamil and answers you in English. The occasion is just the reason someone finally said it.
To make it possible for anyone to give a song, without owning an instrument or knowing what a chorus is. The stories are already there in every family. What was missing was a way to turn one of them into something you can press play on.
